Still following me? Good.
So, being that it is New Recipe Tuesday, I present to you.... a new recipe.
Angel Kisses
Ingredients:
3 large egg whites
3/4 cups of granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup of chopped pecans.
Directions:
1.) Prehead the oven to 325 degrees.
2.) In a medium mixing bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
3.) Gradually beat in sugar, a little at a time.
4.) Add cream of tartar and peppermint extract.
5.) Fold in chocolate chips and pecans.
6.) Drop by teaspoons onto an ungreased baking sheet.
7.) Turn off the oven and place the baking sheet inside for 2 hours, with door closed.
Notes: If the kisses are not dry at the end of the two hours, reheat the oven and dry for another 30 minutes (same as above: oven off, door closed). The batter is extremely wet, so don't be concerned if it appears a little runny on the sheet. When I originally found this recipe, I assumed it was more cookie than anything, but I was mistaken. I would definitely categorize this as a "candy" more than cookie. The recipe stated that this makes about 16 kisses, but I found that to be untrue. In the first batch alone, I had 25 treats. I currently have my second batch in the oven, with enough batter left over to make at least one more batch.
And just in case anyone's wondering what the random movie in the picture is, please take a look at this:
That's right. You see that name there? Yes, I actually spent money on this alien movie from like... 1998 just to watch Michael Weatherly. Because that's how much I love him.
